The best method to open a jump ring is to hold the jump ring with two pliers, one in each hand in front of you. Position the pliers on one side of the opening in the jump ring and the other pliers on the other side, both clos to the opening in the jump ring. Move one hand away from you and the other hand toward you until the jump ring is open enough to apply to a link. put one plier down and while still holding the jump ring with the other plier, apply jump ring with charm to link in the jewelry piece. Pick up plier and position it back on the jump ring as you did initially. Move the two ends of the jump ring back toward the middle, each hand moving in the opposite direction of the motion to open the jump ring. It is important to get a good, tight closure on a jump ring to eliminate the chance of them coming detached from the link. Again, a little experimenting with this technique is helpful to get acquainted with the mechanics of it.

To attach a charm to a gracelet, simply open the jump ring and put one end through the link on the bracelet. Close the jump ring tightly.

You can also use the simple or wrapped loop method to attach beaded components to a bracelet.

A helpful tip is to get all your charms/beaded components ready before starting your project. Lay out your design deciding on the spacing on the dangles before attaching them. This pre-planning of your design could save you time and aggravation later.

When attaching charms/dangles to links, make sure your chain is laid out in a straight line so that all your components are attached to the same side as opposed to some on the top links and some on the bottom.
